Bamboo:Fargesia
A beautiful small bamboo, reaching only 3 metres or so in height, grown mainly for its frothy foliage and droopy appearance. As the culms age they can mature from an olive green to an attractive yellowy-green. It will tolerate being in a shady position and because of its size, would be ideal for the small garden.
Fountain Bamboo. A lovely graceful bamboo with gently arching canes covered in masses of light green foliage. Should reach between 2.5 and 3.5 metres in height but will stay in a tight clump. Tolerant of the shade and will respond well to feeding and watering. Beautiful as a specimen and fantastic as a hedge!
A small to medium sized well behaved bamboo. Develops into a compact arching specimen usually between 1.5 - 2m tall. It has masses of small leaves on top of orange /green stems. Very hardy and tolerant of shade. Plant in good, rich soil and keep well watered until established to achieve the best possible results.
This is one of the most upright Fargesias, with lovely dull green straight canes. The emerging culms are a startling green and show up well against the white culm sheaths in the spring. This bamboo will reach up to 3.5 to 4 metres in height and is a well behaved clump former which will not mind growing in a shady spot. Quite rare, but very desirable!
